Twenty-nine Parker students competed against 17 schools in the Oahu tournament. In a standout performance, senior Savannah Harriman-Pote won all six ballots in championship Lincoln-Douglas debate. The following students won four or more ballots earning a superior rating: Keaton Farrell, Zoe Vann, Kirk Hubbard and Susie Krall in varsity policy debate; Owen Matsuda, Jaipal Brar, Malia Dills, Emily Fetsch, Anna Gaglione and Spencer Corabi in junior varsity policy debate; Matthew Bal and Kyra Matsuda in impromptu speech and Braedon Ingalls in program reading speech. As this was a non-qualifying tournament, there was no combined speech and debate sweepstakes category.

The Parker speech and debate team of Waimea will compete next at the Neighbor Island Speech and Debate Qualifying Tournament hosted by Parker School on Jan. 15 and 16. The community is invited to attend.
