We have a new winner! Dropping to third place on the charts, Richard M. Nixon, “I am not a crook.” Moving into second spot, Bill Clinton, “I did not have sexual relations with that woman.”
And now jumping to No. 1 with a bullet, Donald J. Trump, “I think that would qualify [me] as not smart, but genius … and a very stable genius at that!”

Kudos to Mr. Gregory’s list of top 10 Hawaii stories of 2017 (West Hawaii Today, Dec. 28).
He found one day during the year when President Trump was respectable. I couldn’t find any.
