Sadame Ota

Sadame “Sadie” Ota, 96, of Hilo, formerly of Pahala, died Dec. 29, 2017, at home. Born in Kawainui (Pepeekeo), she was retired from Ka’u Hospital and a member of Pahala Hongwanji Mission and Buddhist Women’s Association.

Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.

She is survived by daughter, Vivian (Randy) Flores of Mililani, Oahu; son, Craig (Renee) Ota of Veneta, Ore.; sisters, Tsukimi (Mitsuo) Murashige and Michie Kuwaye of Hilo, Caroline (Donald) Fujii of Wailuku, Maui; brothers, Tadashi (Asako) Miki of Wahiawa, Oahu, Ernest (Kay) Miki of Honolulu, Lawrence Miki of Hilo; four grandsons, one great-granddaughter, numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert Valencia

Robert Celso Valencia, 83, died Jan.6, 2018, at his home in Hilo. Born in 1951 in Honolulu, he was a retired curtain and drapery installer for Sears.

Private services will be held at a later date.

He is survived by his wife, Rosina Moanauli of Hilo; sister, Rosita Valencia Pettit of San Diego; brother, Antero Daniel Valencia of Waipahu, Oah.

Felicia Lafita

Felicia Bartolome Lafita, 104, of Hilo, died Jan. 6, 2018, at the Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Kukuihaele, she was a retired foster grandparent at Waiakea Elementary School, office clerk for the former Western Auto Store and member of the Hilo Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Private services held.

She is survived by son, Frank (Beverly) Lafita, Jr. of Hilo; grandson, Mark (Tammy) Lafita of Hilo; four great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, numerous nieces and nephews.

Helen Botelho

Helen B. Botelho, 93, of Honokaa, died Jan. 6, 2018, at home. Born in Kalopa, she was a former manager with Tex Drive In and member of the Honokaa Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church as well as the Honokaa Senior Citizens Club.

Friends may call 9-10 a.m. Jan. 23 at the Honokaa Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church for a 10 a.m. celebratory Mass. Casual attire, no flowers; memorial donations can be made to North Hawaii Hospice in memory of the Late Mrs. Botelho.

She is survived by her son, Dereck (Sharon) Botelho of Hilo; daughters, Georgette (Daniel) Kaniho of Ahualoa, Sheryll (Guy) Kaniho of Kona and Marita Cauley of Hilo; brother, Joseph (Mary) Branco of Honokaa; seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson; numerous nieces and nephews.

Keith Ibarra

Keith Sadao Ibarra, 60, of Hilo died Jan. 8 at his residence. He was born in Hilo.
