HMSA now offers online provider review for all members

KAILUA-KONA — A doctor rating tool from HMSA is now available for all commercial plan members and Akamai Advantage members, the insurer announced.

The feature can be accessed through HMSA.com and logging in under the member login page.

Under the claims menu, users can click on “medical claims” and then select the name of a provider.

Once the page opens, users will have the option to write a review under that provider’s name.

Users will need to create a screen name, enter a valid email address and agree to the feature’s conditions of use.

The tool allows users to say whether they would recommend the provider to others and give anywhere from 1-5 stars to rate the provider’s care and the practice overall.

Once those questions are answered, users can leave additional comments.

Just a tsunami drill

KAILUA-KONA — Hawaii County Department of Public Works personnel conducted an islandwide tsunami training exercise Tuesday.

Kanani Aton, spokeswoman for Hawaii County Civil Defense, said the department’s Traffic Division practiced responding and setting up traffic blocks from about 6 a.m. to noon.
