Judy Parsons

Judy Ann Parsons, 60, of Pahoa, died Feb. 11, 2018, at home. She was born in New York and was a homemaker.

Private family services were held.

She is survived by her husband, Stuart L. Parsons of Pahoa; sons, Shawn (Bridget) Flynn of Tenn., Joshua (Emmalyn) Gouveia of Keaau, Matthew Miller of Pahoa and Christopher (Kari) Barto of Mountain View; daughter, Charlotte (Casey) Cabral of Mountain View; mother, Judith (Tim) McCarthy of N.Y.; brother, Ed Miller of New York; sister, Dawn Trickler of New York.; nine grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Sayomi Segawa

Mrs. Sayomi Segawa, 97, of Hilo, died Jan. 26, 2018, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born Jan. 11, 1921, in Pahoa, she was retired from the former Hilo Lanes Bowling Alley as a desk clerk. She was a member of the Higashi Hongwanji Buddhist Temple.

Private services held. No flowers. No koden.

She is survived by sons, Douglas (Hiroko) Segawa of Hilo, Donald (Nina) Segawa of Hilo and Stanley (Pamela) Segawa of Maryland; brother, Muneaki Konishi of California; sisters, Atsuko Mori of Honolulu, Takako Miyada of Hilo, Keiko (James) Mimaki of Hilo, Ethel Matsuno of Hilo and Pauline Horiuchi of Hilo; one sister-in-law; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
