Business Action Day July 12
The Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs will host a Business Action Center Day, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. July 12 at the County of Hawaii, West Hawaii Civic Center, Department of Research &Development.
Walk-ins and appointments are welcome.
Research and Development staff are available for primary business consultations and the DCCA will be available to assist with Hawaii State business registrations, general excise tax applications, federal employer identification numbers and other business filings.
New entrepreneur group launching
A new West Hawaii Entrepreneur meetup will launch July 11. The free class will run 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the West Hawaii Civic Center Community Hale, 74-677 Kealakehe Parkway in Kailua-Kona.
Guest speaker will be Mattson Davis, president of Ulu Development and former CEO of Kona Brewery.
Roy’s Waikoloa celebrated 30th anniversary
On Thursday, Roy’s Waikoloa Bar &Grill celebrated the 30th anniversary of Roy Yamaguchi’s flagship restaurant with a walk around tasting event called Roy’s Big Island Feast. It included live music, locally sourced dishes and specialty beverages while strolling through the dining room.
The Big Island Feast, hosted by Roy Yamaguchi, brought together guest chefs from around the island and feature great tropical libations, beer and wine. A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit The Food Basket, whose mission is to end hunger in Hawaii County.
Therapeutic Horsemanship earns accreditation
Therapeutic Horsemanship of Hawaii-Kona in Kailua-Kona recently earned its accreditation under the Premier Accredited Center program offered by the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International.
By earning Premier Accredited Center status through PATH Intl., Therapeutic Horsemanship of Hawaii-Kona demonstrated that it is in accordance with the national standards for the equine-assisted activities and therapies industry.
