Ballet Folklorico to perform in Hilo, Waimea

The Ballet Folklorico will perform at the University of Hawaii at Hilo Performing Arts Center and Kahilu Theatre in Waimea during an official visit as representatives of La Serena, Chile, a Sister City of the County of Hawaii.

Hawaii Island police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating 28-year-old Hudson Patrick Ho‘oulu Sauer, of Kona, who is wanted for an outstanding warrant of arrest relative to several vehicle thefts, and for questioning in other criminal investigations.

Monk seal dies from injuries following shark bite

The Marine Mammal Center and The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration reported Wednesday that a juvenile female Hawaiian monk seal known as RM28 died at Ke Kai Ola, the center’s hospital in Kailua-Kona, after suffering severe shark bite trauma.

Kona man charged in robbery investigation

Hawaii Island police have charged a man in with robbery, assault, and drug offenses stemming from an incident that occurred early Tuesday at a gas station in Kailua-Kona.
