Kumu Kahua THeatre's Annual KalaBash Fundraiser and Silent Auction
The Kumu Kahua Theatre annual Kālā-Bash Fundraiser and Silent Auction will be held on July 19, 2014 from 5pm-9pm at our home: 46 Merchant Street, in the theatre and on the lanai and courtyard. This year we honor founding member, Dennis Carroll, who has served Kumu Kahua Theatre passionately and tirelessly for 43 years!!! This fundraiser includes live music and entertainment, food from popular Honolulu restaurants and a silent auction featuring items ranging from home décor and jewelry to round trip flights to many continental United States cities. In addition to the food, beverage, entertainment and silent auction, guided architectural tours of the area were offered throughout the evening. Kumu Kahua Theatre is located in the King Kamehameha V Post Office building and is surrounded by notable structures in Downtown Honolulu – here’s your chance to get the tour! This event is an opportunity to celebrate and support the only theatre wholly dedicated to producing plays written by our local playwrights and about our local culture. Over the past 43 years, its artists have entertained and educated more than 73,000 people, and produced more than 200 plays – thank you for your help!
