OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST (Part-time/On-call Waimea)

Essential Job Duties:
Determines assessment tools appropriate to define etiology of the problem, helps to determine services necessary on a case-by-case basis. Interprets results of findings in a written & oral format to trans-disciplinary team, including families. Reviews medical information & evaluations and performs additional assessment of child's self-help, fine motor & sensory strengths & challenges. Re-assess children in program at least every six months.Administers appropriate assessment & evaluation procedures such as the Battelle, E-LAP, Hawaii Development Profile, Sensory Motor Profile and other fine motor developmental assessments. Makes recommendations for follow-up in program consults & referral to other programs. Conducts program planning involving the development, revision & evaluation of procedures & standards in occupational therapy. Acts as a care coordinator for selected cases (primarily clients with prioritized gross motor concerns). Assesses child's level of function the motor areas through re-evaluation, reviewing previous IFSP consulting with staff & parents. Plans & reviews with client's family, staff & other team members an individualized family support plan (IFSP) every 6 months for children exhibiting mild to severe delays in fine motor, social-emotional and self-help skill areas as well as sensory processing or behavioral challenges. Communicates with professionals in a team approach for assessment, management & programming. Provides parents with interpretation of assessment results, explanation of strategies for implementing IFSP goals & objectives, coaching & modeling with family of activities & exercises to implement strategies on an on-going basis. Provides direct therapy to children according to professional standards. Provide consultation to professional team members, plans group activities adapting the task to individual needs and skills of the child. Selects & adapts adaptive motor equipment to assist in maximizing child's independence. Makes home visits, records observations & progress of child. Extensive verbal & written communication.

Job Qualification Requirement: Experience with pediatric evaluation, assessment, therapy & documentation. BS or MS in Occupational Therapy with degree from an accredited program. Training in sensory integration techniques & working with young children with autism.

SPEECH/ LANGUAGE
PATHOLOGIST (Part-time/On-call Waimea)


Essential Job Duties:

Participates in a multi-disciplinary forum to develop these findings, including assessment results, observations, impressions and recommendations into cohesive referral for intervention services. Reviews medical information. SLP is responsible for evaluation, creation and implementation of therapy plans, accurate and reliable data collection, consultation & training with family. Collaborate with other staff members and behavioral therapist to create and maintain therapy plans that dresses all language & communication needs of clients and their families. Makes recommendation for follow-up, consults & referral to other programs, and re-assess children in program at least every six months.
Assesses child's level of functioning in the language areas through re-evaluation, reviewing previous IFSP, consulting with staff & parents. Provides parents with interpretation of assessment results, explanation of strategies for implementing IFSP goals & objectives, coaching & modeling with family activities and exercises to implement strategies on an on-going basis. Provides direct therapy to children with delays in language, feeding, swallowing etc. Provides technical consultation to professional team members for those children who do have specific goals & objectives. Makes home visits. Extensive verbal & written communication.

Job Qualification Requirements: State License; requires certification by the American Speech & Hearing Association (ASHA) which requires Master's Degree from an accredited program, passing national exam & completion of internship. Training in speech, language, swallowing disorders & working with young children with autism. Experience with pediatric evaluation, assessment, therapy & documentation, at least one year experience working with infants, toddlers and their families.
