    The Hawaii County Police Department is asking for the public’s help in processing court bench warrants.

    As we approach another session of the state Legislature and with Congress about to go on holiday break, there will be renewed rhetoric about raising the minimum wage. There is obvious ignorance demonstrated when the minimum wage is characterized as a “living wage.”

    Christmas trees are arriving from the mainland now. Some folks have already selected a tree, but for those that have not, don’t delay any longer. Now let’s look at the trees available.

    We’ve made it through the retail free-for-all known as Black Friday. Some say the name refers to the day that corporate retailers finally “get into the black” financially. More likely, the big box retailers actually operate in the black all year and holiday spending simply boosts their bottom line.
