    This large Hawaiian Dove that has taken to the routine of eating an alfresco breakfast with a family every morning, even eating out of their hands. After a ton of toast, she hops onto a 20-gallon fish tank on the lanai for a little splash and admires her reflection for awhile, then preens her feathers while watching the fish below.

    During the past few months, the Tax Review Commission, a group provided for in our state constitution to meet once every five years, has been busy at work. The commission recommends changes to our tax laws, and its consultant has recommended limiting the pension exemption we now have in our state income tax code so that it only exempts $25,000 per year.

    As the days get shorter, folks like to brighten up their home with bouquets of colorful cut flowers, but for most kamaaina, flowering plants are another option. Instead of lasting a few days, many flowering plants can last for years. If you like interior or exterior gardening the easy way, then you might consider a group of easy care plants referred to as air plants.

    The Kealakehe Elementary Head Start Preschool experiment with bubbles. The children were asked to use a tool to achieve a goal, and the children chose to use bubble wands to create their own bubbles. The parents participated in the awesome bubble event.
