Two informational presentations will be given, the first from 3-4:30 p.m. and the second from 6-7 p.m. today at West Hawaii Civic Center, building G, in Kailua-Kona.
Civil Defense has requested the participation of residents and recognized neighborhood watch groups islandwide to assist them.
Also, beginning 11:45 a.m. Friday, the statewide Hawaii Emergency Management Agency (HEMA) will sound and incorporate an attack warning signal into the regular first of the month testing of the emergency alert siren system. The test will include 50 seconds of the usual steady-tone alert for hurricanes or tsunamis followed by 50 seconds of the wavering attack warning tone.
