Woman raises more than $60K for homeless man who helped her

PHILADELPHIA — A New Jersey woman who was helped by a homeless man after she ran out of gas on an interstate in Philadelphia has raised more than $60,000 for the good Samaritan.

    The folks projecting state revenues think there will be a few extra bucks this session, and lots of social service agencies have swarmed lawmakers urging them to use some of that money for the poor. Proposals being considered include a low-income credit; a food and excise tax credit; a low-income household renters’ credit; an earned income tax credit; and a special tax credit for seniors 65 and older.
