    This Saturday, the festival and art exhibit will take place at the Kamuela Farmers Market at Pukalani Stables from 9 a.m.-noon. Steven Sorros from The Songs of Orchids will be the Hono Hono orchid information booth. Matthias Seelis, owner of Shogun Hawaii, will bring a variety of fragrant Hono Hono orchids and host the art exhibit with two local artists, Big Island resident Michael Shewmaker with his architectural scale sculpture, and Stephen Freedman, a second generation ceramicist.

    The monthly event will be held at Parker Ranch Area on April 1 and 2. Leading up to district and state finals in May and June, about 110 Hawaii Island K-12 youth from around the island will share their riding and roping expertise.

    The event will be held on April 1 from 4-8 p.m. at Kohala Village HUB. A fundraiser celebrating Prince Kuhio Day, all proceeds benefit Na Kupuna o Kohala and the Kohala Kamehameha Day Committee.

    The free choral concert will be held at Hawaii Preparatory Academy’s Davies Chapel on April 2 at 4 p.m. Titled “Transitions: Songs of Growth and Change,” the show will share a cappella choral music from the Renaissance period to the 21st century. The concert is open to the public.

    Visiting author and esteemed religious scholar Dr. Mark Unno will lead a special presentation with guided meditation open to the public at Kohala Hongwanji on March 19 at 2 p.m. Admission is free.

    Ready and wanting to lend a hand? Not sure how? Come join Friends of Anuenue Playground on March 26 from 9 a.m.-noon. No particular skills are required, just willingness and enthusiasm. Wear comfortable clothes and bring gloves and hats if needed.

    On March 26, akamai Waimea high school students from HPA, Parker, Kamehameha and Honokaa High School will help kupuna learn to manage their phones and other personal electronic devices and programs at St. James’ Episcopal Church from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

    The free informative clinic will be held at the Waimea District Park Gym beginning March 26. It is for men and women 18 and older who want to join the women’s team, co-ed Hi-Roller teams or referee crew.
