Waikoloa Dog Park Group meeting open to all North Hawaii residents: Next step to bring first dog park to the region

WAIKOLOA VILLAGE — Dog lovers in North Hawaii who want to support a new Waikoloa Village dog park can attend a public meeting from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the Homeowner’s Association Community Room, next to Waikoloa Grill &Bar.

    Every month, Queens’ Marketplace at Waikoloa Resort offers a free concert for residents and visitors. On July 16, the Michael Strand Band will play at the Coronation Pavilion from 6-8 p.m.

    Under the Bodhi Tree is hosting a public event to celebrate local farmers, artists and their two years in business on July 15 at their restaurant in The Shops at Mauna Lani. More than 25 vendors, including organic produce, local artists and food vendors will be featured from 4-8 p.m. There is no cost to attend.

    On July 16 from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., high school students from HPA, Parker, Kamehameha and Honokaa High will offer technology tips to the public at St. James’ Episcopal Church.

    Yogi-Librarian Janet Lam will offer a three-session introduction to the principles of yoga at North Kohala Public Library in Kapaau in July.

    Angel Prince will offer two six-week dance series this summer, one on salsa instruction and the other on tango. All classes are on Thursday evenings beginning July 7 through August 11 in the theater’s Mike Luce Studio. No partner is necessary.
