    Aston Fitness Floor Work will be offered from noon-1:30 p.m. this Wednesday, with Judith Aston, a pioneer in the field of movement education and bodywork. Come and review or come and be new. Optimize daily actions applied to sitting, bending, lifting, walking and reaching. This class welcomes new and returning participants. A review of class content and new content will be presented.     WAIMEA — Students in Parker School Dramatiques will present three performances of their upcoming show, “Mother Courage and her Children,” this Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the historic Parker School Theatre.

    With an increase of student participation in multiple grades and events, the school’s track and field team is in need of equipment for training and practicing. Waimea Elementary needs hurdles, discuses, batons for relay races and shot put balls.

    From 2-4 p.m. this Thursday, and the last Thursday of each month, cancer patients and their families are invited to attend the free group meeting. The gathering provides educational presentations on a variety of topics of interest, as well as an informal discussion in a relaxed and supportive environment.

    Tickets are still available for the annual event sponsored by North Hawaii Rotary. Held from 5-8 p.m. this Friday at Pukalani Stables, the fundraiser supports many community projects, and will include onolicious foods, beer, costume contests, a silent auction benefiting Waimea Country School, music, dancing including the famous Chicken Dance and lots of fun.

    The Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope (CFHT) and Keck Observatory are sponsoring the free Waimea Solar System Walk from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. this Saturday beginning at Keck Observatory Headquarters along Mamalahoa Highway and continuing to the CFHT offices. The walk turns Waimea into a scale model of the solar system with the sun at Keck and Pluto/dwarf planets at CFHT.
