Diabetes program slated at Tutu’s House

Vivienne Aronowitz, dietitian and certified diabetes educator at Tutu’s House will give a free presentation on how diabetics can maximize their vitality and live with the disease from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Tutu’s House, 64-1032 Mamalahoa Highway in Waimea.

Seniors group plans fundraiser

Kailua-Kona Seniors meet Wednesday at Hale Halawai for its yearly treasure and bake sale. This public sale begins at 9 a.m. on the front lawn of Hale Halawai. Items will be priced to sell. This is the club’s only fundraiser of the year. Bring a bag to carry home purchases.

UN Day celebration scheduled for Thursday

The public is invited to the third celebration luncheon of United Nations Day on Thursday at 73-5574 Maiau St., No. 3, near Costco. A free brunch is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The United Nations was founded in 1945, and the anniversary of the day on which the U.N. charter came into force is observed each year on Oct. 24.

Sailing club event is at Honokohau Harbor

The Kona Sailing Club’s Oktoberfest barbecue and sailing movie night announced in Friday’s issue will be held at the Kona Sailing Club at Honokohau Harbor.
