Concert benefits typhoon victims
Keauhou Shopping Center will host a Typhoon Haiyan Disaster Relief Benefit Concert from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 30 featuring Big Island entertainment, Filipino cultural activities, food vendors and more.

Production seeks auditioners
Bold, motivated women in performing arts of all mediums are invited to audition for the upcoming show, “She. On the tip of her tongue 2014” performed in Pahoa and Hilo. Auditioners should submit up to three stage-ready pieces/acts — poem, dance, rant, song or short drama; no cover songs. Send video or YouTube links or questions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Live auditions will be from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Dec. 3 and 7 at Le Magic Pan in Hilo and 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 4 at Akebono Theater in Pahoa. Those interested must commit to three to five rehearsals and a photo shoot between Jan. 1 and the Feb. 8 show date.
Gallery planning Black Friday auction
The first Black Friday Art Auction will be held Nov. 29 at gallery mELD in Brewery Block, Kailua-Kona. Big Island artists will be offering multiple original pieces and prints of their work to the highest bidder in a live-auction event.
Featured artists include Che Pilago, Daniel Sheinfeld, MarLea, Miho Morinoue, Ali Gollestani, Danielle Zirkelbach, Kawika, Roberto Saldua, Sarah Lee, Jordan Laughlin, Renee Hoadley, Brian Watai, Erin Powers, Mckenzie Clark, Taj Flora, Joshua Horan and Robyn Chance Page. Doors open for viewing at 6 p.m., live auction begins at 7:30. Light refreshments, admission are free.
Gallery mELD is located at 74-5617 Pawai Place, next to Kona Brewing Co.
