Kahikina Dacalio, also known as Sally Kahikinaokala Dacalio, 83, of Hilo and formerly of Pahala died May 23, 2013, in Mililani, Oahu. Born Sept. 7, 1929, in Hilea, she was a retired cook at Volcano House and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.
Friends may call at 5:30 to 10 p.m. June 16 at the family residence in Hilo, 134 Kapaka St. and an all-night vigil. Friends may call at 8 a.m. June 17 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo for a 10 a.m. Mass. Burial is at Homelani Memorial Park. Family requests casual attire be worn.
She is survived by sons, James (Lisa) Dacalio Jr. and Milton (Verna) Dacalio, both of Pahala, Jason (Gale) Dacalio of Georgia, Alson (Victoria) Dacalio of Oklahoma; daughters, Luwayne (Davy) Dacalio-Kamalii of Waipahu, Oahu, Mervanette (George) Lee of Ewa, Oahu, Lurnette (Joel) Dacalio-Spencer of Mililani, Oahu; hanai daughter, Orasa Fernandez of Mililani, Oahu; brother, Garciano Sesson of Pahala; sisters, Felisa (Thomas) Kaniho of South Point, Rosing (Moses) Takaki of Aiea, Oahu; hanai sister, Marjorie Abrojena of Kona; 27 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
