Miriam “Lina” Pelina Hulama Sordillia, 77, of Hilo died Dec. 29, 2012, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Dec. 18, 1935, in Kona, she was retired from Hilo Hawaiian Hotel, also worked for the former Hukilau Hotel and member of The Salvation Army.
Friends may call at 6 p.m. Jan. 9 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 7 p.m. service. Friends may again call at 8 a.m. Jan. 10 at the mortuary for a 9 a.m. service. Burial follows at noon at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Family requests casual attire be worn.
She is survived by sons, John (Joyce) Nalimu and Lambert Nalimu, both of Hilo; daughters, Sherry (Steve) Bass of California, Nadine (Joe) Taylor, Eunice Bagorio and Lorna (Rodney Ofisa) Sordillia, all of Hilo, Nadiline (Steve) Frendo of Kona, Laura (Reggie Tankson) Sordillia of Illinois; hanai daughter, Mary Delos Santos of Honolulu; hanai son, Alex (Debbie) Candelario of Wisconsin; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
