Waimea road closures slated

Alternating lane closures will be in effect through May on Mamalahoa Highway between Mana Road and Puu Nani Drive in Waimea for road repairs, according to the Hawaii County Department of Public Works. Crews will be working from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Tree trimming continues through April 28 on Old Mamalahoa Highway in the Kalopa and Ahualoa areas, according to the department. Alatani Tree Experts Inc. crews will be working from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

In Ahualoa, intermittent single lane closures are planned at Kahana and Kalehua roads and near the county’s Department of Water Supply water tank. In Kalopa, expect a single lane closure near Kalaniai Road, according to the department.
