Kona Pacific breaking ground at campus
Kona Pacific Public Charter School breaks ground on a $1 million campus expansion at 1:30 p.m. May 23, marking a new beginning on ancient land. The ceremony begins with a traditional blessing by kumu Keala Ching.
The expansion will add 6,000 square feet of classroom space to the campus, allowing the school to grow by 25 percent next year. The school will add a second kindergarten class and will serve 230 students from kindergarten through eighth grade.
The improved facilities will provide expanded, modern classrooms in order to create an educational environment that supports the school’s mission of cultivating in young people the skills, knowledge and values they need to reach their highest potential. Kona Pacific offers a rigorous academic program and integrates Hawaiian culture and agriculture studies into its Waldorf curriculum.
The school is accepting applications for all grades through the beginning of the 2012-13 school year. Call 322-4900 with enrollment inquiries.
