Editor’s note: This log of individuals sentenced in 3rd Circuit Court is a regular feature of West Hawaii Today and is compiled using court and Hawaii County Police Department records. A deferred acceptance of a plea includes the provision that if all conditions of the sentence are met, the court shall later dismiss the charge against the defendant.

c Laakeaokalani Keith Sanborn, 29, of Kailua-Kona, pleaded guilty April 12 to two counts first-degree assault against a law enforcement officer. He was sentenced to five years probation with conditions he serve one year incarceration, with credit for time served and all but six months suspended that may be served intermittently, pay $860 in fines and fees and write a letter of apology to the victim.

c Rexford C. Cahill, 21, of Kailua-Kona, pleaded guilty March 16 to one count each second- and third-degree theft. He received on April 13 a five-year deferred acceptance of his plea to second-degree theft and a one-year deferred acceptance of his plea to third-degree theft with conditions he serve 90 days incarceration, with credit for time served and all but 15 days suspended, and pay $3,885 in fees, fines and restitution. He must also write an apology letter to the victim.

c Ioane K. Asagra, 18, of Captain Cook, pleaded guilty Feb. 27 to second-degree theft, unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle and second-degree accomplice to burglary. He received on April 25 a five-year deferred acceptance of his pleas with conditions he serve six months incarceration, with credit for time served and all but seven days suspended, and pay $1,173.28 in fees, fines and restitution. He must also write an apology letter to the victim.
