Mauna Kea resort a
hit with tennis players

The Mauna Kea Beach Hotel aced the top spot as the No. 1 tennis resort in the Hawaiian Islands, according to the just-published Tennis Resorts Online annual survey of racquet-wielding tennis vacationers for the 10th year in a row.

The Mauna’s Kea’s oceanfront 11-court Seaside Tennis Club not only made No. 1 in Hawaii, but came in at No. 6 overall in Tennis Resorts Online’s annual ranking of the Top 75 Tennis Resorts worldwide.

The rankings are compiled over a yearlong period from reviews submitted by thousands of vacationers evaluating more than 20 criteria that contribute to a quality resort tennis experience.

Resident participation raises funds for charity

UFO Parasail recently held a one-day-only kamaaina special with all proceeds from parasail rides taken by residents going to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (lls.org).

The company was able to donate $350 to the charity.
