Four students received Kealakehe High School Community Council’s 2012 Sarah Rosenberg Memorial Foundation Scholarships.
Brittany Denzer was named “Most Outstanding WaveRider — Kupono” and awarded a $2,000 scholarship. Jonathan Lomberg was awarded $1,500 for second place in the same category. The awards are given to students based on academic achievement and community involvement.
Jonathan Kutsunai received a $2,000 “Most Charitable WaveRider — Loko-maikai” scholarship. Caitlin Howard-Gomez won $1,500 for second place in the category. Candidates for these scholarships are evaluated on school and community involvement.
Denzer plans to attend Colorado College; Lomberg plans to study aerospace engineering at the U.S. Naval Academy; Kutsunai plans to study mechanical engineering at the University of Hawaii; and Howard-Gomez plans to study entrepreneurship at Babson College.
Denzer and Kutsunai will speak at graduation Saturday.
