c Brandon Hiroyuki Sakamoto, 25, of Kailua-Kona was found guilty via bench trial on Feb. 17 of driving under the influence of an intoxicant and refusing to submit to a breath, blood or urine test. He was sentenced April 26 to pay $974 in fines and fees, referred to a driver’s education course and ordered to undergo substance abuse assessment and, if determined required, treatment. He must also serve an unspecified amount of jail time.
c Stanford Ragon, 48, of Kailua-Kona pleaded guilty April 26 to driving under the influence of an intoxicant and driving without a valid license. He was sentenced to pay $1,074 in fines and fees, referred to a driver’s education course, ordered to undergo substance abuse assessment and, if determined required, treatment, and enter a substance abuse rehabilitation program.
c Adam L. Ludwig, 26, of Kona pleaded guilty April 30 to driving under the influence of an intoxicant, driving with an improper license and failure to have no-fault motor vehicle insurance. He was sentenced to pay $511 in fees, in addition to an undisclosed fine, referred to a driver’s education course, ordered to undergo substance abuse assessment and, if determined required, treatment, and enter a substance abuse rehabilitation program. He must also serve an unspecified amount of jail time and his license was suspended.
c Nelson Gustavo Soriano, 36, of Kailua-Kona pleaded no contest April 30 to driving under the influence of an intoxicant, driving with an improper license and failure to have no-fault motor vehicle insurance. He was sentenced to pay $1,371 in fines and fees, referred to a driver’s education course, ordered to undergo substance abuse assessment and, if determined required, treatment, and enter a substance abuse rehabilitation program. His license was also suspended.
c Richard Blihmen, 33, of Kailua-Kona pleaded guilty April 30 to driving under the influence of an intoxicant, driving with an improper license, failure to have no-fault motor vehicle insurance and consuming or possessing an intoxicating liquor while operating a motor vehicle. He was sentenced to pay $1,158 in fines and fees, referred to a driver’s education course, and ordered to undergo substance abuse assessment and, if determined required, treatment. He must also serve an unspecified amount of jail time.
c Kathleen Uilani Igarta, 57, of Wailuku, Maui, pleaded guilty April 30 to driving under the influence of an intoxicant and storing an opened container containing an intoxicant or consumption at a scenic point. She was sentenced to pay $774 in fines and fees, referred to a driver’s education course, ordered to undergo substance abuse assessment and, if determined required, treatment, and enter a substance abuse rehabilitation program. Her license was also revoked.
c Jennifer L. Spidle, 23, of Kailua-Kona pleaded guilty April 30 to driving under the influence of an intoxicant. She was sentenced to pay $937 in fines and fees, referred to a driver’s education course, ordered to undergo substance abuse assessment and, if determined required, treatment, and enter a substance abuse rehabilitation program.
c Rebeca Altamirano, 33, of Kailua-Kona pleaded guilty May 2 to driving under the influence of an intoxicant. She was sentenced to pay $587 in fines and fees, referred to a driver’s education course, ordered to undergo substance abuse assessment and, if determined required, treatment, and enter a substance abuse rehabilitation program.
c Kirsty Grow, 40, of Kailua-Kona pleaded no contest May 3 to driving under the influence of an intoxicant. She was sentenced to pay $937 in fines and fees, referred to a driver’s education course, ordered to undergo substance abuse assessment and, if determined required, treatment, and enter a substance abuse rehabilitation program.
