Big Island police are asking the public’s help locating a 16-year-old Hilo boy reported missing since April 24.
Kayden C. Fuerte is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing 125 pounds with hazel eyes and brown hair, according to the Hawaii Police Department.

Trio allegedly attempt to steal backpack
Two men and a teen were arrested late Tuesday shortly after a reported robbery in the parking lot of Coconut Grove Marketplace in Kailua-Kona.
About 11:30 p.m. Kona patrol officers responded to the parking lot where they determined a 27-year-old Kailua-Kona man had been confronted by three men who reportedly attacked him, threw him to the ground and subsequently took his backpack, according to the Hawaii Police Department. The man was able to retrieve the backpack as the men prepared to flee the scene in a blue Ford Bronco.
The 27-year-old suffered scrapes and a cut to his face, but declined medical treatment, according to police.
At 11:47 p.m., police located the SUV and its occupants on a dirt road behind a Henry Street gas station. Two Kailua-Kona men, ages 18 and 20, along with a 17-year-old boy, were arrested on suspicion of robbery. West Hawaii Today is not identifying the individuals because they haven’t been charged with a crime.
The 17-year-old was released to his parents early Wednesday morning, according to police. The men remain held at the Kona police cellblock while detectives continue the investigation.

Road work in South Kona begins today
Alternating lane closures will be in effect today and Friday on Napoopoo Road in South Kona for road resurfacing, according to the Hawaii County Department of Public Works.
The resurfacing work will begin about 25 feet below the road’s intersection with Highway 11 and continue about 1,000 feet makai, according to the department. The county anticipates this portion of the work will take one day to complete.
On Friday, crews will resurface the lower portion of Napoopoo Road, beginning near Kealakekua Bay Estates and extending about 1,000 feet makai, according to the department. The department anticipates work will wrap up that day, but could continue on June 12.
Crews will be working from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Road work is weather permitting.
Maddison located
Big Island police have located 13-year-old Benson Maddison, who had been reported missing.
Maddison was found unharmed Saturday in the Puna District, according to the Hawaii Police Department.
