Gary Tetsuo Arita, 60, of Hilo, died June 13 at Hilo Medical Center. Born Aug. 21, 1951, in Hilo, he was the proprietor of the former Arita’s Auto Repair shop in Hilo, longtime coach for Hawaii AJA Baseball in Hilo, Wreckers Big League and Babe Ruth Summer Ball.
Friends may call at 4 p.m. June 26 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 5 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn.
He is survived by wife, Joanne Arita, of Hilo; brother, Calvin (Cathy) Arita, of Pepeekeo; sister, Gwen Santos, of Pepeekeo; numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.
