A 21-year-old Pepeekeo man on Tuesday was sentenced to probation and jail and ordered to pay $10,000 in restitution after pleading guilty to first-degree burglary.
3rd Circuit Court Judge Glenn S. Hara rejected Christopher Santos’ request for a five-year deferred acceptance of his guilty plea to first-degree burglary and sentenced him to five years probation with conditions that he serve one year in jail and pay $10,000 in restitution, according to the Hawaii County Office of the Prosecuting Attorney.
Santos was arrested after fingerprints from a Pepeekeo residence that had been burglarized on Oct. 16, 2010, led to him, according to the office.
First-degree burglary is a class B felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine up to $25,000, according to the office.
