The Hawaii Lodging and Tourism Association on July 18 awarded Disabled Adventures Hawaii top honors for its outstanding participation in the 2012 Charity Walk.
The company serves residents and visitors with limited mobility with information about adaptive sports and accessible facilities on the Big Island.
“This generous gift gives us the opportunity to create a much-needed booklet, Access Hawaii,” said Hartley. “The online booklet will feature maps, photos and details about safe and accessible beaches and visitor sites, sidewalks and parking.”
Hard copies will be available to cruise and hotel guests.
The 2012 Charity Walk yielded more than $194,000, which was distributed to 45 Big Isle charitable organizations.
