Richard Dale Bergan, 89, of Waimea died July 18 at his residence. Born Dec. 29, 1922, in Crookston, Minn., he was a retired aeronautical engineer for General Dynamics and Orbital Sciences, a former YMCA board member and a volunteer with Kawaihae Boating Association and North Hawaii Community Hospital. He was also a WWII Navy Air Corps veteran.
No services are planned at this time. Memorial contributions may be sent to North Hawaii Community Hospital/Inpatient Care Unit at 67-1125 Mamalahoa Highway, Kamuela, Hawaii 96743 or to North Hawaii Hospice at 65-1328 Kawaihae Road, Kamuela, Hawaii 96743.
He is survived by wife, Martha Bergan of Waimea; daughter, Christy (Patrick) Foley of Carlsbad, Calif.; son, James (Skye) Bergan of Waimea; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
