The Department of Parks and Recreation’s West Hawaii permit office will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday so staff may attend training sessions.
The office, located in the West Hawaii Civic Center, will reopen at 8 a.m. on Thursday.
Camping and pavilion permits may be obtained Mondays through Thursdays at the following West Hawaii locations: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hale Halawai Park in Kailua-Kona, 12 to 2 p.m. at Yano Hall in Captain Cook, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Waimea Community Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 12 to 2 p.m. at Kamehameha Park in North Kohala.
Camping permits may be obtained at the department’s Aupuni Center administrative office in Hilo 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. Camping permits also are available online at: ehawaii.gov/Hawaii_County/camping/exe/campre.cgi.
