Lanihau Center’s August Cruise Night is open to all car, motorcycle and truck owners who would like to participate in the free event planned from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the former Bank of Hawaii parking lot.
Kona Town Meetings, a nonprofit group which presents monthly educational and interactive forums at the Makaeo Events Pavilion at Old Kona Airport Park, will host an informational booth as the event’s featured organization.
Ocean View’s Ed Merritt’s will debut his latest creation — a 1923 Ford Model T roadster featuring World War II bomber aircraft seats and other 1950s styling elements — during the show. At 7:30, participants will line up for a slow, noisy cruise around the center parking lot.
KWXX radio’s G. Cruz will emcee the event, playing classic rock ‘n’ roll music and hosting prize giveaways every half hour.
