Chalmers Larsen Akima, 47, of Las Vegas and Waimea, died July 22 at St. Rose Dominican Hospital’s Siena Campus in Las Vegas. Born on Aug. 14, 1964, in Honolulu, he was employed by the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows, KTA Super Stores, Com Systems in Las Vegas, The California Hotel and Casino, and was as tax assessor for Clark County Tax Office in Las Vegas.
Visitation is 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at Imiola Congregational Church, Waimea, with a service at 1 p.m. and inurnment to follow at Imiola Congregational Church Cemetery.
He survived by, parents, William Louis and Lorna Marlene Kaiuwailani Akima of Waimea; sister, Willette Kalaokahaku Akima of Waimea; brother, William Louis Akima, Jr. of Waimea; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
