Helen Agbisit Argel, 78, of Pepeekeo, died Aug. 11 at Hilo Medical Center. Born May 9, 1934, in Pepeekeo, she was retired from Robins Shoe Store in Hilo and member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou and Pepeekeo Filipino Community Association.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. Sept. 1 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou for a 10 a.m. Mass. Burial follows at Alae Cemetery (Section K). Family requests casual attire be worn.
She is survived by daughters, Cindy Shiroma, of Hilo, Laurel (Eric) Johnasen, of Keaau, Brandi Argel, of Pepeekeo; son, Darrell Argel, of Pepeekeo; sisters, Angeline Pavao, of Keaau, Margaret Amaral, of Las Vegas, Lorna (Joel) Groth, of California; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous nieces; one nephew.
