Dunn Gallery presents “On the Wall,” an exhibit showcasing wall-mounted wood art, through September.
The gallery is introducing Joe Valasek for this exhibit. He uses computer-aided design to create intricately detailed three-dimensional wood panel works, highlighting Hawaii’s sea life and flora. Valasek incorporates texture and soft color into his work while accentuating the natural grain of the wood.
Mary Ellen Clagett is showing several new works for this exhibit. Her mosaic-styled paintings on wood canvas feature recurring island elements. Clagett’s latest work, “Guardian of the Sea,” reveals coral and the endangered green sea turtle playing in Hawaiian waters.
