Earthquake reported off Ka’u Coast

The U.S. Geological Survey reported a magnitude 3.1 earthquake shortly before noon Thursday off the Ka‘u Coast.
According to the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory, the 11:52 a.m. earthquake was centered 12 miles east-southeast of Naalehu. The quake was about 26 miles deep. No tsunami was generated.
