Police have charged a former Pepeekeo man for a February residential break-in in Pepeekeo.
Ralph Curtis Riveira, 54, of no permanent address and formerly of Pepeekeo, was charged Wednesday with one count first-degree unauthorized entry into a dwelling, according to the Hawaii Police Department. His bail was set at $5,000.
The charge stems from Feb. 17 when a 59-year-old Pepeekeo man reported that while at home, he discovered an unknown man inside his home, according to police. The man reportedly fled after being confronted by the homeowner.
First-degree unauthorized entry into a dwelling is a class C felony punishable by up to a maximum fine of $10,000 and up to five years incarceration, according to Hawaii Revised Statutes.
