Basil LeRoy Edmunds, 81, of Kailua-Kona died Sept. 28 at home. Born Aug. 10, 1931, in Garibaldi, Ore., he was a retired Navy captain, owned and operated a commercial fishing business, manager of the Port of Bay City, an economic development director for the state of Oregon and member of the Big Island Ukulele Guild,.
Arrangements for a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
He is survived by wife, Sonia Edmunds of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Sheryl (John) Cain of Hemet, Calif., Kathy (Bowie Goodwin) Edmunds of Kailua-Kona; one granddaughter. Cremation
