Carolyn “Kennie” Suverkrup Thomas, 80, of Volcano died Oct. 27 in Hilo. Born June 16, 1932, in Moline, Ill., she worked for 27 years as the office manager of Waimea Medical and later Lucy Henriques Medical Center.

Private family services are planned.

She is survived by husband, James Thomas of Volcano; sons, Michael (Diana) Thomas of Waimea, Kimo Thomas of Waikoloa; daughter, Carolyn Thomas of Kapaau; sister, Ellen Sorenson of Oregon, seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson.
