Violet Yaeko Hirata, 94, of Kealakekua died Oct. 17. Born Feb. 9, 1918, in Honaunau, she was a homemaker, babysitter, member of Konawaena Kumiai and Kona Koyasan Daishiji Mission and former member of Lea Lea Golf Club.
Private services will be held.
She is survived by daughters, Jeanette (Mike) Federspiel and Joyce (Ronald) Hancock, both of Captain Cook; brother, Mikio Izu of Honaunau; sisters, Betsy Nishibun of Pearl City, Oahu, Hannah Hirata of Keauhou, Betty (Kenneth) Ebata of Honokaa, Loretta Kitaoka of Captain Cook; three granddaughters; numerous nieces and nephews.
