Big Island police have identified a body found Nov. 3 at Wakine Beach in Ka’u.
The victim has been identified as Terry Lee Day, a 48-year-old who lived in the Ocean View area but had no permanent address, according to the Hawaii Police Department. He was identified through dental records provided by family.
There is no evidence of foul play, according to police. The cause of death remains undetermined.
Day’s body was located Nov. 3 after a boater, who landed at the beach north of South Point, reported discovering human remains at an apparent campsite, according to police. Officers had to be flown to the campsite to recover the remains and investigate.
