Ernest Tamotsu Kurohara, 78, of Hilo died Nov. 8 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center in Hilo. Born March 18, 1934, in Hilo, he was the proprietor of the former Kurohara’s clothing store in Hilo, a marketing consultant and member of Kaumana Terrace Kumiai, Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce, Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Hilo Jaycees.
Private services were held. Family requests no flowers or monetary gifts.
He is survived by wife, Martha Kurohara of Hilo; sons, Kevin (Diane) Kurohara, Randall (Connie) Kurohara and David (Jenn) Kurohara, all of Hilo, Darren (Rhonda) Kurohara of Wailuku, Maui; brother, Samuel (Jane) Kurohara of Pasadena, Calif.; sisters, Amy Hashimoto and Alice (Robert) Fujimoto, both of Hilo, Helen Kanda of Honolulu; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
