Yoshiko Nakashima, 99, of Hilo died Jan. 10, 2013, at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born Sept. 23, 1913, in Ahualoa, she was a homemaker and member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin, Buddhist Women’s Association and South Pohakulani Street Kumiai.
Friends may call at 3 p.m. Jan. 18, 2013, at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 4 p.m. service. Her family requests casual attire be worn and flowers omitted.
She is survived by sons, Earl (Carol) Nakashima, Alan (Kathy) Nakashima, both of Hilo, Clyde (Suzan) Nakashima, of Las Vegas, Nev.; daughters, Vivian (Harold) Iwai, of Rio Vista, Calif., Mary Ann (Roy) Katayama, Sue (Dennis) Kagawa, both of Hilo, Irene Yamasato, of Kona; brother, Kunio (Mary) Fujii, of Waimea; sister, Natsue Nakamoto, of Honolulu; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
