Charles L. “Kale Loke” Rose Jr., 78, of Honolulu, died at The Queen’s Medical Center on Jan. 15, 2013. Born in Hilo, he was a retired Hawaii Island Police captain and federal investigator. He was also involved in a number of Hawaiian organizations, including the Hawaiian Civic Clubs, Hawaii Canoe Racing Association and Hawaii Maoli.
Friends may call 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Dodo Mortuary chapel Jan. 26, where a memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Online condolences may also be sent to: kaleloke808@gmail.com. The family requests aloha attire and that flowers be omitted.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Rose of Honolulu; son, Kawika C. (Nikki) Rose of Hilo; daughter, Crystal K. (Rick) Rose-Towill of Honolulu; brother, Thomas Rose of Honolulu; three grandchildren, and numerous nieces & nephews.
