Sadato Miyashita, 91, of Hilo died Mar. 7, 2013, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was retired from Meadow Gold Dairy in Hilo and a member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin and Nohea Kumiai.
Private services were held. The family requests no flowers and no koden (monetary gifts).
He is survived by his wife, Sueko Sue Miyashita of Hilo; son, Wesley Miyashita of Hilo; daughter, Lynne (Reid) Furutani of Hilo; brother, Kazuaki (Janet) Miyashita of Oahu; sisters, Sayoko (Glenn) Hirose of Oahu; Amy (Richard) Matsunaga of California; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews.
