Thomas Kaiawe, 90, of Kapaau died March 7, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Kaohe, South Kona, he was a retired heavy equipment operator supervisor and pilot for Hamakua, Kohala Sugar Co.
Freinds may call at 9 a.m. April 6 at Immaculate Conception Church in Holualoa for a 10 a.m. service. Burial is at 11:30 a.m. at Kona Memorial Park.
He is survived by son, Thomas (Barbara) Kaiwe of Honolulu; daughters, Elizabeth (Burton) Freitas of Honolulu, Evelyn Kaiawe of Kona, Jane Kaiawe of Hilo; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
