Anthony Paro, 73, of Hilo died at the Hilo Medical Center April 16, 2013. Born in Kohala, he was a retired Master Gunnery Sergeant with the United States Marine Corps and a veteran of the Vietnam War, and was later a maintenance engineer at the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel.
Friends may call 9:30 am. to 11:30 a.m. April 27 at the Dodo Mortuary chapel, where a funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m., followed by cremation. Friends may also call at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery #2 at 10 a.m. May 11, for a graveside urn committal service. The family requests casual attire and that flowers be omitted.
He is survived by his: wife, Clarice Paro of Hilo; son, Ronald (Michelle) Paro of Hilo; daughter, Lori Paro of Honolulu; brother, Melvin (Kim) Viloria of Waimea; sister, Sandra “Sandy” (Claude) Caravalho of Kohala; one granddaughter; aunts, uncles, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
