Kealakehe High School to celebrate seniors
Kealakehe High School invites the community to its 2013 Senior Awards celebration slated for Wednesday in the school’s cafeteria. The event will begin with a showcase of student work at 5:30 p.m., including heavy pupu provided by the Kealakehe culinary students. The awards presentations will run from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Soil, water district meets Wednesday
The Mauna Kea Soil and Water Conservation District meets from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the U.S. Department of Agriculture/Natural Resources Conservation Service center, 67-1185 Mamalahoa Highway, Suite 148, Waimea.

Society plans historical cruise
The Kona Historical Society presents a historical cruise aboard the catamaran Fair Wind II from 2 to 5 p.m. May 19. The tour begins and ends at Keauhou Bay. John Mitchell provides the historical narrative, prepared by the late Kona historian Jean Greenwell, on the holua at Keauhou, the Battle of Kuamoo, Kealakekua Bay, the Battle of Mokuohai at Keei and Puuhonua o Honaunau. The cruise includes complimentary snacks and a no-host bar.

Brain injury group meets Wednesday
The Brain Injury Support group will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hawaiian Rehab Services, mauka of the Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union on Hualalai Road.
Neuropsychologist Dan Eubanks will give an overview of brain injury anatomy and how that relates to a traumatic brain injury. He will also discuss cognitive rehabilitation strategies.
