Pedro “Mr. Pete” Reyes, 73, of Hilo died April 18 at The Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu. Born in Kohala, he was the owner of the former Pete’s Shoe Repair, employed at the Aloha Key Shop at Sears in Hilo, member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo and Kupuna Senior Softball League and a former member of the Crescent City Lions Club.
A memorial graveside service will take place at 9 a.m. May 13 at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Family requests casual attire be worn. Condolences may be sent to Mabel Reyes, 1906 Kinoole St., Hilo, HI 96720.
He is survived by wife, Mabel Reyes of Hilo; son, Dominic Reyes of Hilo; brothers, Clemente Reyes Jr. of Hilo, Thomas Reyes of Ohio; sisters, Catherine Mamhot of Waimea, Mary Cordero of Pepeekeo; an uncle; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
